A source in the Iranian government denied, this Sunday evening, that his country had entered into a new round of direct negotiations with the United States in New York. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in New York on Friday evening to attend a Security Council session on the Middle East and the war in Gaza. According to the Iranian source who spoke to the official Iranian agency, IRNA, 'there are no direct negotiations with the United States, and the negotiations are continuing through the exchange of messages through the mediation of international parties.' The Iranian source confirmed that "the negotiations taking place through the exchange of letters with Washington are limited to lifting sanctions and reviving the nuclear agreement concluded in 2015 with international powers."
