The Iranian government welcomed any peace proposals on Tuesday. Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said in a press conference: "We welcome any peace proposals and are ready to improve the situation in Gaza and Lebanon. Mohajerani added: "The genocide in Gaza is a large-scale humanitarian tragedy and the Islamic Republic is doing its utmost to alleviate the suffering of the people of Gaza and southern Lebanon. She added: "We have never started a war against any country and we have the ability to defend ourselves with high determination and will not hesitate or rush to respond to any aggression at the appropriate time and place."
