Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the suspension of the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States via Muscat due to the special circumstances the region is going through. Araghchi, who visited Muscat yesterday, Monday, said that the Sultanate of Oman has always been a great help in solving the problems of the region, and has always tried to play a positive role regarding Iran and the United States to convey a message or create a basis for negotiations. He added that the Sultanate of Oman played a mediating role in the indirect negotiations known as the Muscat negotiations, where indirect contacts took place between Iran and the United States via Oman during the 13th government (the government of Martyr Raisi). Araghchi stressed that these negotiations are currently suspended due to the special circumstances the region is going through, noting that there is no basis for these talks until the current crisis is overcome, and then it will be decided whether the negotiations will resume again or not, or how the negotiations will be. In response to a question about whether a message was sent to the Americans during his visit to Oman, the Iranian Foreign Minister explained that during this visit, no contacts were made in this regard and no message was sent to other countries, but in all the consultations held in the region and in other countries, he indicated that he strongly expressed the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and requested that these positions be conveyed to all parties. Araghchi added that America, European countries and regional countries must know what Iran's positions are, indicating that Iran's positions are completely clear, as it has been repeatedly stated that it does not want war, but is fully prepared for any scenario, considering that diplomacy must succeed and prevent this from happening.
