Iraq and Egypt discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of urban development

The Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, discussed with the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the urban field. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States met with Sherif El-Sherbiny, the Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, in the New Administrative Capital, and discussed with him ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the urban field, and transfer Egyptian urban expertise to Iraq. The two sides also discussed the possibility of the participation of Egyptian companies and consulting offices, with their extensive capabilities and expertise, in implementing development projects inside Iraq, and the discussion also included the participation of Egyptian real estate develop ers in these projects. During the meeting, the Egyptian Minister of Housing invited the ambassador to participate in the World Urban Forum, which will bring together companies and investors from different countries, to be an opportunity to expand cooperation between the two countries and exchange expertise in various fields. For his part, Ambassador Qahtaan Taha Khalaf confirmed that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is personally following up on the path of cooperation with countries wishing to develop development projects in Iraq, expressing Iraq's interest in the participation of Egyptian contracting companies in implementing urban projects, including the construction of residential units of various types and other development projects.'
