Iraq and Russia discuss signing outstanding memorandums of understanding that are in the interest of the two countries

The Iraqi Ambassador to Moscow, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Energy, Sergei Mogalnikov, in the building of the Russian Ministry of Energy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: “During the meeting, bilateral relations and prospects for cooperation between the two friendly countries were discussed, as well as the possibility of holding a meeting of the Iraqi-Russian joint committee, as well as the procedures for holding meetings of the relevant subcommittees emanating from the relevant sectoral bodies.

The Ambassador indicated the possibility of signing outstanding memorandums of understanding that are in the interest of both countries, expressing Iraq's interest in developing its distinguished relationship with the Russian Federation.

For his part, Mogalnikov stressed his country's keenness to strengthen its relations with Iraq, expressing his aspiration for more joint cooperation between the two countries with the aim of finding solutions to the obstacles and problems facing Russian investing companies operating in Iraq.
