Iraq Calls On The Security Council To Exercise Its Role In Maintaining Int’l Peace And Security

Iraq called on the UN Security Council to exercise its role in maintaining international peace and security, while warning against dragging the region into an all-out war. The Iraqi representative to the United Nations Abbas Kazim Obaid, said in a speech at the emergency session of the Security Council: "The failure to deter the Zionist entity opens the door to more crimes and drags the region into broad conflicts."
