The Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, participated in the meeting of the Council of the League at the level of permanent delegates in its 162nd regular session, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo. The meeting discussed in detail, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the proposed agenda to be submitted to the Arab foreign ministers, which is headed by the item of the Palestinian issue, including following up on political developments and violations of the occupation in Gaza, Al-Quds and the rest of the Palestinian territories. The issues of Arab affairs and Arab national security were also discussed, as well as following up on the situations in Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Sudan, in addition to Arab international cooperation. According to the statement, the focus was also on enhancing cooperation between Iraq and the Arab League, especially through Iraq's do nation to construct a building attached to the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, currently known as the 'Iraqi Annex,' which reflects Iraq's keenness to support the Arab League and enhance its role in discussing common Arab issues and interests.
