ISESCO Celebrates World Poetry Day, Announces ‘Cities of Poems’ Contest Winners

Rabat: The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) held a poetry event at its headquarters in Rabat to celebrate World Poetry Day. The gathering included poets from the organization’s member states and was themed “every year, poetry is the voice of man and the memory of the earth.”

According to Qatar News Agency, during the event, ISESCO Director General Dr. Salim M. AlMalik announced the establishment of the Poetry and Literature Center. This center is designed to stimulate cultural activity in poetry and literature, acting as a cultural beacon for intellectual and creative enrichment in the Islamic world. The initiative aims to position ISESCO as a global hub for culture and poetry.

The event concluded with the announcement of the winners of the “Cities of Poems” competition. This contest was launched by ISESCO to honor the 2024 Capitals of Culture in the Islamic World: Marrakesh, Shusha, and Benghazi.
