Ramallah: The israeli occupation forces launched a massive arrest campaign on Tuesday and late Monday in the West Bank, targeting more than 40 Palestinians, including children and freed detainees. In a joint statement, Palestinian Prisoners Society and Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that the arrests took place in Bethlehem, Ramallah, Ariha, Tulkarm, Nablus, Qalqilya and Hebron. During these arrests, the occupation forces abuse Palestinians and threaten detainees and their families, the statement pointed out, adding that the occupation also carries out filed investigation operations, vandalization and destruction of citizens' homes, in addition to seizing money and vehicles. According to the statement, the number of arrests in the West Bank rose to 7,960 after Oct. 7. These arrests include those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage. It is noteworthy that th e pace of arrests and raids in the West Bank escalated, coinciding with the start of the brutal israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip 179 days ago, during which the israeli occupation killed and injured tens of thousands of Palestinians, while thousand others remain missing under the rubble.
