The Israeli occupation soldiers have launched large-scale detention campaigns targeting at least 40 Palestinians in the West Bank, among them children, former prisoners and family members of prisoners who were recently released. In a joint statement, on Saturday, the Palestinian commission of prisoners and ex-prisoners affairs and the Palestinian prisoners club, reported that the campaigns were primarily focused in Qalqilya and Nablus governorates, alongside the majority governorates of the West Bank. During these campaigns, the Israeli soldiers keep invading homes and brutally assaulting and threatening the detainees and their families, in addition to conducting field interrogations and vandalizing the Palestinians' homes, the statement can confirm. The statement highlighted that since the start of the Israeli offensive on Oct.7, 2023, the number of Palestinian detainees reached over 9,840, including those who were arrested from homes, military checkpoints, as well as those who were forced to surrender un der pressure and those who were held as captives. The Israeli military continues the systematic arrest campaigns as one of the most salient and firm policies that have unprecedently escalated after Oct. 7, 2023, not in terms of the number of detainees, but the level of crimes being committed.
