Beirut: At least six people have been killed and eight others injured in Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut, the Lebanese health ministry said on Friday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the health ministry released a statement indicating that an initial toll from a strike on the town of Saksakiyeh near Sidon resulted in four fatalities and eight injuries.

The statement further mentioned that a separate strike early on Friday targeted Tahwitat Al Ghadir in Beirut's southern suburbs, leading to the deaths of two individuals.
