Jerusalem - Ma'an - As part of its efforts to develop and expand its services, the Jerusalem District Electricity Company has completed the installation and operation of a new transformer in the Shuyukh al-Arroub area in the far south of Bethlehem Governorate. The company's crews installed and operated the transformer as part of plans to develop and improve capabilities to be able to accommodate the needs of each region, as the company relies on high-tech systems that show the need of different regions for electricity and thus set the vision according to the priorities of the need, which contributes to enhancing and improving the level of services for current subscribers and the ability to accommodate more new subscribers. In this context, Engineer Raafat Al-Saraheen, Project Manager at the Bethlehem branch of the Jerusalem Electricity Company, said that the project comes within the vision, plans and programs of the company's management to develop services for citizens in all concession areas. Al-Saraheen explained that these plans always take into account the increase in the population in the concession areas and consequently the increase in demands for connection to the electric current on the one hand and addressing the weakness in services for current subscribers if any, explaining that the installation of the new transformer in the Shuyukh Al-Arub area aims to strengthen the company's infrastructure and strengthen the voltage and effort. Al-Sarahin added that the new transformer has a capacity of 250 KVA and will contribute to strengthening the voltage, explaining that the cost of the Shuyukh Al-Arroub project ranges between 700 and 800 thousand shekels, which is a large cost, noting that the plans were drawn up two years ago based on the technical study that was conducted as a result of the company's smart systems monitoring the need to develop the electricity network in this area. In turn, Engineer Diana Banoura, Smart Systems Engineer at the Jerusalem Electricity Company, said that the implementation of the project to install a transformer and develop the electricity network in the Shuyukh al-Arroub area came based on analysis and remote reading systems that help analyze the network, where are the strengths and weaknesses, where it can be developed, and where it can accommodate more services, improve the network, and maintain a better level of service for subscribers. For their part, the Shuyukh Al-Arroub Village Council and the citizens expressed their thanks for the network's efforts. Ibrahim Halayqa, head of the village council, said that this development came quickly in response to the council's demands to develop and expand services in the region, extending his great thanks to the company's management and staff for their efforts.
