Manama, Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan, Jordanian Ambassador and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, emphasised the historic significance of the upcoming Arab Summit in Bahrain. He highlighted the role of Bahrain, which he described as the "country of peace", as a model for peace and coexistence. In an interview with Bahrain News Agency, the Jordanian Ambassador lauded the kingdom's notable stances in defending crucial Arab issues. He highlighted the international appreciation for Bahrain's balanced and rational policies, which contributes to shaping the aspirations for the outcomes of the upcoming summit. He emphasised that Bahrain's hosting of the 33rd session of the Arab Summit underscores Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to supporting joint Arab action, enhancing Arab solidarity, and bolstering Arab capabilities in addressing current regional and international challenges. He said it was expected that Bahrain's presidency of this session would accelerate th e pace of Arab coordination and cooperation. Ambassador Al Wreikat expressed his confidence in that Bahrain has been exerting utmost efforts to ensure the success of the summit in producing resolutions and recommendations that serve Arab interests. He highlighted Bahrain's steadfast backing of the Palestinian cause, demonstrated by its endeavours to contribute to achieving fair and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state. The Jordanian ambassador said that his country and Bahrain shared similar moderate political approaches .He underscored the importance of the ongoing coordination and exchange of views, guided by His Majesty King Abdulla II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which emphasises the dedication to joining efforts for the future of the Arab region. Both countries support Arab efforts to combat terrorism and oppose external interference in Ar ab internal affairs, he said. He added that they also share a deep belief in bolstering the Arab economic system to achieve prosperity and stability, as a requisite of security and peace. The Jordanian Ambassador touched on the Arab League's role in unifying Arab positions to create a powerful presence in international politics. Addressing urgent issues through the Arab League and the Arab Summit can mobilise actions to formulate impactful stances, he said.
