Jordanian FM: Israel is destroying the region and does not seek peace

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said: Israel is destroying the Middle East, and it does not seek peace with the countries of the region. Safadi added in a session with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan entitled "Global Diplomacy and the Future of Palestine", within the "Future of Palestine" conference organized by Turkey: "Israel lost the war on the political and moral levels." He continued: "Finding stability in the region requires reaching a solution that guarantees peace and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Quds as its capital, stressing that if the Palestinians do not have a sovereign state, Israel will not achieve comfort." The Jordanian minister stressed that this is "the only way to achieve comprehensive and lasting peace that is accepted by the peoples and constitutes a right and necessity for them." He explained that "Israel only achieves destruction in the region and does not seek peace and stability for the countries of the region, as it destroyed Gaza and expanded its aggression against Lebanon." He stated that since September 30, not a single aid truck has entered Gaza, which is besieged by the Israeli occupation, which continues to bomb shelters, hospitals and schools. Safadi explained that Israel is using starvation as a weapon in its aggression against Gaza, considering this matter "tantamount to a war crime". He said: "Israel is expanding its control over more occupied Palestinian territories by building more settlements". He called for "stopping the Israeli aggression that is killing hopes for peace, noting that Israel ignited the war and destroyed the livelihoods of Palestinians in the West Bank". Turkey is hosting the "Future of Palestine" conference at a time when Israel continues its war of extermination on the Gaza Strip and its attacks on Lebanon. Since September 23, Israel has expanded the scope of the genocide it has been committing in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, to include Lebanon by launching air strikes that targeted the capital Beirut, in addition to attempts to infiltrate the ground in the south.
