Amman: Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met in Amman on Tuesday with Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini. The two sides discussed the significant humanitarian role UNRWA plays in Gaza, which continues to face a crisis due to the devastation from Israeli aggression and the ongoing restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation on access to adequate aid to the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, Safadi highlighted the importance of ensuring UNRWA's continued operation to provide essential services for Palestinian refugees in alignment with its UN mandate across its five areas of operation. He underscored the necessity of stopping the Israeli campaign, which has been methodically applying pressure, and the unlawfully imposed restrictions on UNRWA and its essential role in the occupied Palestinian territories.
