Amman - Ma'an - Jordanian King Abdullah II stressed on Tuesday that reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is essential to achieving a comprehensive calm in the region. During his meeting with a delegation from the US House of Representatives Armed Services Committee headed by Representative Mike Rogers, the King stressed Jordan's complete rejection of the displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. He stressed the importance of enhancing the humanitarian response in Gaza and ensuring the entry of relief aid by all possible means to stop the humanitarian catastrophe, warning of the danger of the repeated Israeli attacks against the Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
