Amman, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store stressed, during a phone call Monday, the necessity of concerted international efforts to stop the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. During the call, the King of Jordan underlined the importance of the international community moving urgently to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to stop Israeli military operations in Rafah and protect innocent civilians. The Jordanian King appreciated Norway's step towards recognizing the Palestinian State, in addition to its role in sending relief aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, reiterating the need to support the Palestinian people in obtaining their full legitimate rights and establishing their independent State on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two states solution.
