Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) on Monday organized the "Engineers Forum 2024" with the attendance of a group of engineers and experts in various engineering fields from various departments and sections in the corporation. According to a Kahramaa press release, the forum aims to motivate and highlight the role of engineers in the corporation and enhance communication and exchange of experiences between engineers in various departments, in addition to showcasing the capabilities and abilities of Qatari engineers. It also falls within Kahramaa's efforts to enhance the culture of creativity and innovation, achieve employee satisfaction and push them towards career development in the work environment. The forum began with a tour of the inventions exhibition, which comprised nine pavilions, in which Qatari engineers presented their latest various engineering inventions that contribute to promoting renewable energy and sustainability. These projects included smart applications to rationalize electricity and water consumption, a platform to monitor electric vehicle charging stations in the State of Qatar, an innovative device for cooling tank water using advanced technologies, in addition to solutions for storing hydrogen gas in sustainable energy tanks. A project to use drones to inspect overhead lines to improve the efficiency of the electrical grid, and an automatic device to replace batteries for mobile devices were also reviewed. These innovations reflect the high level of efficiency and innovation enjoyed by engineers. A video documenting the journey and achievements of Kahramaa engineers was also played during the forum, highlighting the effective role of the corporation in supporting and developing functional capabilities. In his speech during the forum, HE President of Kahramaa, Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari stressed the importance of the role of Kahramaa engineers in achieving its goals and developing its services, as they are the main pillar for achieving the corporation' s future vision, adding, "The work papers and discussions presented today are a step in a long journey towards enhancing the corporation's efficiency and continuing its development." He pointed out that supporting engineering creativity is a key axis in achieving the corporation's goals, stressing Kahramaa's commitment to investing in national engineering competencies. The event included a panel discussion in which a number of experts participated to discuss modern challenges in the engineering sector, and a review of the success stories of a number of guests of honor was presented, in addition to presenting working papers by engineers in which they reviewed the latest projects and technologies used in the field of engineering. In addition, a special section entitled "Engineer's Idea" was held, which provided young engineers with the opportunity to present their creative ideas, with the aim of stimulating the spirit of innovation and creative thinking. The Corporation also acknowledged the guests of honor i n appreciation of their contributions, as their expertise and dedication are a source of inspiration for the next generation of engineers. The forum saw the participation of university students through two important initiatives, the first on manufacturing the first electric racing car, and the second on the best smart solutions in the field of sustainable renewable energy, which confirms the commitment of the new generation to contribute effectively to enhancing sustainability. At the end of the forum, the guests and participants were honored in appreciation of their effective contributions to the success of this event.
