Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) held 1,570 activities across the year 2023, the leading cultural organization's annual cultural index, released on Tuesday, has unveiled. The activities included 86 workshops and courses, 122 panel discussions on culture, art and heritage, 76 seminars and lectures, 48 gatherings and forums, 22 festivals, 11 concerts, and 111 various religious activities. A total of 251 artists displayed 998 pieces of art, including paintings, sculptures and murals in 45 art exhibitions. The yearly index also monitored the screening of 83 Arab and foreign movies in cooperation and coordination with Arab and foreign embassies in the country, with 39 prizes awarded. The Arab Postal Stamp Museum attracted 27,985 visitors, including 434 students. Katara's annual visitors by the end of 2023 were estimated at 31,270,860, including 81,180 tourists from around the world, 393,957 visitors to Katara Beach, and 3,830 school students, and 11,543,649 vehicles occupied Katara parking lots. Katara also received 721 official visits from high-level figures and delegations to enhance relations and cultural exchange. Katara's social media accounts have gained a huge follower growth, recording 427,000 followers on X platform, 398,000 followers on Instagram, and 376,000 followers on Facebook.
