King Abdullah II of Jordan spoke on the phone, on Sunday, with the French President, Emmanuel Macron, and called for full calm to avoid the expansion of conflict in the region. In a statement, the Jordanian Royal Hashemite Court reported that King Abdullah II discussed with Macron the dangerous developments in the region and underscored the importance of regional de-escalation and ending the unilateral Israeli measures. King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed the importance of reaching an immediate and durable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the humanitarian plight of the people of Gaza. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation and maintain enduring coordination between the two countries. Many countries, so far, expressed their concern about the conflict expansion in the region, given the relentless Israeli offensive that has been continuing in the Gaza Strip, as well as regions and towns of South Lebanon, since Oct.7, 2023, amid the worst humanitarian catastrophe in the modern history, as per classification of UN agencies and international officials.
