King of Jordan Emphasizes Necessity of Stabilizing Palestinians on Their Territory

Brussels: Jordan’s King Abdullah II emphasized his country’s steadfast stance on the necessity of stabilizing the Palestinians on their territory and granting them their legal rights based on the two-state solution. This call for stability and rights was a central theme in his discussions with key European leaders.

According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions took place during King Abdullah’s separate meetings with the President of the European Council Antonio Costa, the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels. The meetings underscored the importance of the European Union’s involvement in promoting peace efforts in the region.

King Abdullah II highlighted the critical nature of maintaining and stabilizing the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized that a stable ceasefire is essential for increasing security and stability in the area, which is a shared interest between Jordan and the European Union.

The King also stressed the need to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He raised concerns about the potential for violence in the West Bank and pointed out the risks associated with violations of Christian and Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, urging for measures to prevent such incidents.
