The Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Reber Ahmed, denied today, Wednesday, the presence of terrorist groups in the border areas of the region, as some neighboring countries like to call them, in a clear reference to the Kurdish parties opposing the regime in Turkey and Iran. The minister said during his hosting of a discussion seminar on the sidelines of the eighth Sulaymaniyah Forum, 'There are no terrorist groups in the border areas of the Kurdistan region. Some countries use the term terrorism for specific groups, which stems from the opinions and policies of those countries,' adding, 'We in Iraq and the Kurdistan region did not name these organizations terrorists." He added, "We do not accept the presence of any of these armed groups in the name of parties and armed parties on Iraqi lands and the Kurdistan region," adding, "But each party is free to name these groups." He continued: We in the Kurdistan region and Iraq give these groups an official name that differs from the opinion of nei ghboring countries Source: National Iraqi News Agency
