The Mary Cathedral in Damascus held Monday morning a divine mass to celebrate the New Year's Day. The mass was presided upon Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox. Patriarch John X delivered a sermon of the mass in which he prayed for the peace of Syria that has been suffering from unjust embargo and an aggressive war affected the Syrian people. He also prayed for the people in the occupied Palestine and for the peace in all the world.
