Maysan Police Arrest 10 Members of “Qurban Group” in the Governorate

Amara, Maysan Police Command announced the arrest of 10 members of the "Sacrifice Behavioral Group" known as "Al-Alahia", or "Qurban Group" one of the deviant intellectual movements, in one of the governorate's areas. Maysan Police Command said in a statement a copy of which received by the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The suicide cases that the governorate and some other governorates have witnessed recently among young people necessitated the formation of a specialized work team for the purpose of searching, investigating and collecting information about emerging movements. After collecting evidence and monitoring the movements and behaviors of some suspicious people, a group was spotted using one of the residential homes in one of the governorate's areas as a safe haven." It added: "A force was formed from Hattin Police Department in cooperation with the National Security Service. After obtaining judicial approvals, the area was surrounded, the house was raided and (10) members of this movement w ho were present inside the house were arrested." It indicated that this deviant movement, according to available information, its members worship Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and draw lots among themselves from time to time, and whose name appears, goes as a sacrifice to the Imam, indicating that the accused were referred to the security detention center and their papers were presented to the investigating judge, who decided to detain them in accordance with Article 372 of the Religious Extremism Law.'
