The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced yesterday that it has concluded a partnership with Meta as part of its contribution to building a knowledge-based digital economy. With this partnership, the Ministry will work on exploring opportunities for collaboration with Meta covering key areas, including community upskilling, the digitization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and economic support.
This agreement comes as part of the Ministry's endeavors towards realizing its vision seeking to develop the potential of human capital in the area of digital economy, within the framework of its efforts to implement an inclusive digital transformation process for all businesses, from small enterprises or large organizations. As such, the Ministry's step towards collaboration with Meta has been a critical component to achieve its vision. The partnership with Meta is one of examples showing MCIT's endeavors toward leveraging international expertise and resources and applying the best practices.
Commenting on this partnership, HE Mrs. Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development at MCIT, said: "Our strategic partnership with Meta comes as part of the State of Qatar's efforts to enhance the potential of the digital transformation of SMEs. This transformation is regarded as a key element for the growth and progress of our economic and social sectors in Qatar."
