Bujumbura: The Qatar-Burundi Joint Committee on Labour held its inaugural meeting for 2025 on Monday under the chairmanship of HE Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi Albert Shingiro.
According to Qatar News Agency, the committee reviewed recent developments in bilateral labour relations between the two countries. Discussions included measures to enhance cooperation in regulating labour recruitment processes and initiatives aimed at increasing reliance on a pool of qualified and trained workers to meet the needs of Qatar’s labour market, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030. Additionally, they discussed the implementation of the labour agreement signed between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Burundi.
During the meeting, both ministers expressed satisfaction with the strong relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Burundi. They highlighted the importance of holding regular meetings of the Joint Committee to reinforce strategic partnerships, address any challenges, and further enhance joint efforts in the future.
