Damascus, The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, met Wednesday afternoon with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Syria, Samir al-Rifai, where the two sides reviewed the latest developments on the Palestinian arena. Minister Mikdad stressed that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the criminal acts committed by the Israeli occupation is a source of pride for our Arab nation, Stressing the need for all Arabs to stand together to stop the barbaric Zionist liquidation policies and the Israeli occupation's violations of all principles of international law, and that Syrian has always been standing with the Palestinian brothers. Mikdad also renewed Syria's condemnation of the destructive role played by the US of and the West who are partners in shedding the blood of children and women in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Minister Mikdad attached great importance to uniting Palestinian ranks and finding a strategic vision to confront the conspiracies being hatched to liquidate Palestinian just cause. The Palestinian ambassador, in turn, voiced high appreciation for the long-term support that Syria provides to the Palestinian cause and the struggle, highlighting also the necessity of strengthening joint action to put an end to the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation.
