Doha: HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie affirmed that the ministry is working in cooperation with its partners in the public and private sectors to expand the scope of recycling projects and develop supporting legislation. During a field visit today to the Qatar Primary Materials Company’s construction waste recycling plant in Rawdat Rashid, His Excellency stated that recycling contributes to reducing the environmental impact of waste and enhances environmental sustainability in the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, he pointed out that the Rawdat Rashid experience is a successful model that can be applied to other areas, such as municipal and industrial waste. This comes within the framework of implementing the ministry’s strategy aimed at promoting the concept of the circular economy and waste management by transforming waste into economic resources that support sustainable development projects.

For his part, CEO of Qatar Primary Materials Company, Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al Tamimi stressed the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and developing its facilities by introducing new production lines and improving sorting and processing technologies. His Excellency the Minister also inspected the recycled sand production lines and the mixed waste sorting unit, which contributes to the processing of difficult-to-separate materials, enhancing the efficiency of recycling operations and conserving natural resources.
