Minister of Housing: More than 15,000 users on “Bayti” platform in 6 months

Manama, Almost 15,700 citizens visited 'Baity' (my house) real estate platform, which has been upgraded in February, coinciding with the third edition of the Housing Finance Exhibition, the Housing Minister said. Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said the event received a remarkable turnout from citizens wishing to benefit from the financing services provided by the ministry to beneficiaries. The demand by citizens and agencies has increased according to the database. Demand for tasheel financing through the platform rose to 58%, while the demand for 'Mazaya' financing reached 22%, compared to 20% for 'New Mazaya' financing, indicating that the banks participating in the financing programs contribute significantly to citizens' interest through the platform. The minister said that the database showed that the platform saw a huge growth in the number of users, driven by the various options it provides for available real estate at prices compatible with the value of housing f inancing through 'Tasheel' and 'New Mazaya'. The two programmes offer a variety of units, plots, and residential apartments distributed across all governorates. The minister noted that the platform provides flexibility to view the details, areas, and prices of real estate provided by real estate companies. Minister Al Rumaihi affirmed that the number of available real estate on the platform increased due to the demand of real estate companies on the variety of options available on the 'Bayti' platform. The number of companies exhibiting on the platform increased to 43 real estate companies and agencies, which offer about 11,580 real estates worth BD1.3 billion. The joint work team between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Eskan bank is working on implementing the second phase of developing the platform, which will include the addition of interactive features to help and support citizens choose and reserve real estate online, and complete transactions of purchasing the property funds directly through the platform. The minister noted that those updates come within the framework of the comprehensive transformation plan implemented by the Ministry to digitise all its services and ensure flexibility for citizens in obtaining housing in the fastest possible period of time, the minister said.
