The Ministry of Electricity announced today, Wednesday, the loss of about (7100 megawatts) due to the decrease in the releases of national gas and the supplier operating the production stations. The ministry said in a statement: "There is a specification in the loads of the electrical system and its impact on the loss of about (7100 megawatts) due to the decrease in the releases of national gas and the supplier operating the production stations due to the shutdown of (450 cubic meters) of national gas in the south, due to seasonal periodic maintenance work for (21 days) by the staff of the Ministry of Oil, by determining the loads of the stations in the southern region and the middle Euphrates at (1500 megawatts)." It added, "While the decrease in the supplied gas from (30 million cubic meters per day to 23 million) affected the production of the stations in the central region at (1500 megawatts) more, the shutdown of the Iranian power transmission lines (Mersad - Diyala, Sarbil Zahab - Khanaqin, Karkheh - Amara, Khorramshahr - Basra) affected the loss of the system (1100 megawatts)." The Ministry called on citizens to understand these circumstances beyond its control and to rationalize unnecessary consumption to control loads until maintenance work is completed.
