Forensic Medicine Center at the Ministry of Interior organized an introductory meeting for Qatari students at Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar, with the aim of attracting them to join the forensic medicine specialization. Professor of Clinical Medicine and Vice Dean for Academic and Curricular Affairs Dr. Thurayya Arayssi praised the cooperation with the world-class specialists working at the Ministry of Interior's Forensic Medicine Center, explaining that this fruitful cooperation supports Qatari students who wish to join the forensic medicine residency program after graduation through a scholarship program designed specifically for this purpose. She pointed out that these meetings contribute to enabling Qatari graduates to gain experience in the field of forensic medicine, and thus enable them to make a valuable contribution to the advancement of this important field of scientific investigations in the State of Qatar through our cooperation with the Forensic Medicine Center. For her part, Major Dr. Noura A bdullah Al Yahri, forensic medicine consultant and head of the technical affairs department at the Forensic Medicine Center, provided an explanation during the meeting about the concept of forensic medicine specialization, the role and nature of the work of the forensic doctor in the State of Qatar, his specializations, and the relationship of forensic medicine with other entities, especially the judiciary and investigation. She touched on the differences in forensic medicine systems between countries of the world in the explanation. After that, Dr. Ibrahim Al Rumaihi, forensic medicine consultant at the Center, answered all the inquiries and questions raised by the students. First Lieutenant Salem Al Dosari from the Scholarship Section of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry, also provided an explanation to the students about the Scholarships Department and its services provided to students either inside or outside Qatar, mechanism and procedures for scholarships, and support it provides to stude nts by following up on them academically at all levels and overcoming any obstacles they may face. The meeting was held in cooperation with the Scholarship Section at the Ministry's Human Resources Department, with the attendance of a number of faculty members. Source: Qatar News Agency
