Doha: The Ministry of Labour, represented by its Departments of Qualifying and Skills Development and National Workforce Employment, participated in the second edition of the career fair organized by Lusail University. In a statement, the ministry indicated that its participation in the fair is part of its ongoing efforts to prepare and qualify the national workforce for the private sector labour market, in alignment with the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. This strategy aims to empower Qatari nationals and the children of Qatari women to become competitive participants in the labour market, establishing a foundation of national competencies within the private sector capable of driving significant transformations towards a more productive labour market across various economic sectors. It also seeks to attract skilled expatriate labour. Through its participation in the fair, the ministry aims to enhance and build upon the successful experience of last year's edition by linking the academic sec tor with the needs of the labour market. This includes informing students and graduates about available job opportunities, encouraging them to leverage the academic support and summer training initiatives offered by the Ministry in various fields, and equipping them with the essential skills required by the private sector. The two-day fair provided a dynamic platform that brings together students and graduates seeking employment with representatives from both public sector and private companies.
