Ministry of Labour Showcases Opportunities at Qatar Foundation Career Fair

Doha: The Ministry of Labour, represented by its Department of Qualifying and Skills Development, participated today in the Career Fair organised by Qatar Foundation at Education City. The event aimed to enhance engagement with Qatari graduates and the children of Qatari women seeking employment in the private sector, introducing them to the training and qualification programmes and initiatives offered by the Ministry. The fair featured the participation of 110 leading institutions and companies providing direct employment opportunities for graduates.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry’s participation in the fair, held on 16 and 17 February, is part of its ongoing efforts to raise awareness among graduates about in-demand academic specialisations and guide them towards career paths that align with their qualifications, skills, and professional aspirations. This initiative aligns with the Third National Development Strategy (2024-2030), which seeks to develop a highly skilled and competitive national workforce while enhancing the productivity of the private sector.

At its pavilion, the Department of Qualifying and Skills Development provided an overview of the workshops, initiatives, programmes, and training courses available to support Qatari graduates entering the labour market. The objective is to help students select academic specialisations that meet market demands and equip graduates with the necessary skills to compete for opportunities across various economic sectors.

The fair also featured strong participation from several prestigious Qatar Foundation universities, offering graduates a platform to explore career opportunities and engage in direct job interviews with prospective employers from the private sector.

The Ministry of Labour’s participation in this career fair reflects its commitment to supporting job-seeking graduates both Qataris and children of Qatari women by empowering them to integrate successfully into the workforce. This initiative contributes to increasing the presence of the national workforce in the private sector, in line with the country’s sustainable development goals, the national localisation plan, and the Human Development Pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.
