Director General of the Human Development Department at the Ministry of Planning, Maha Abdul Karim Al-Rawi, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq has the lowest divorce rates among Arab countries compared to its population. She said during her speech in a workshop on the causes of the divorce phenomenon and the proposed solutions to address it in the country: This topic is very important, as it deals with the rates of divorce cases in Iraq, according to data from the Supreme Judicial Council, indicating that the causes of this phenomenon are many and varied, and overlap with each other, including early marriage, poverty and unemployment rates, in addition to the social diseases that afflict young people at the present time. She added that the Ministry of Planning has prepared a special program to promote authentic values and build society in the five-year national development plan (2024-2028). Al-Rawi pointed out that the issue is extremely important, and its causes and repercussions must be addressed, and appropriate solutions must be found to address it, in order to reduce the phenomenon of divorce, despite the fact that the rate of divorce cases in Iraq is the lowest among Arab countries compared to its population./End Source: National Iraqi News Agency
