The Ministry of Transport in the State of Qatar, in its tweet on its official Twitter account today, announced that the first phase of Lusail Tram services would open for the public on January 1, 2022.
The Ministry said that the first phase includes the operation of part of the Orange Line, with six stations, namely Marina, Marina Promenade, Yacht Club, Esplanade and Energy City South, in addition to the Legtaifiya station, which is a combined Tram and Doha Metro station.
It added that Lusail Tram would run seven days a week with an interval of five minutes.
It further pointed out that when the service becomes fully operational, the public will be able to use the tram to reach all parts of Lusail city and connect to the Metro network via Legtaifiya and Lusail stations.
It also noted that this step is in line with the Ministry's plans to provide a sustainable, integrated and multi-modal public transport system, and to support the State's hosting of an environmentally friendly and carbon neutral FIFA World Cup 2022.
