Rome, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council and undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, participated in the Italian Society of International Organisation (SIOI) conference. The conference was held under the patronage of President Sergio Mattarella of Italy, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Dr. Shaikh Abdullah affirmed the kingdom's keenness to strengthen partnership with NATO and consolidate regional and international security through its membership in the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He emphasised the continued coordination and political consultations between the two sides to confront all threats, ensuring cybersecurity and energy security. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah highlighted that the security of the Gulf region is an integral part of global security, and underscored t he importance of cooperation and strategic partnerships to achieve global security.
