MoI Collaborates with IBM to Enhance Digital Infrastructure in Security Sector

Doha: Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force ‘Lekhwiya’, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has taken a significant step towards digital advancement by signing a Letter of Intent with IBM. This collaboration is poised to leverage IBM’s expertise in hybrid cloud, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and digital services to enhance the nation’s security infrastructure.

According to Qatar News Agency, the signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Minister of State for Interior Affairs, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Thani. The agreement was finalized by His Excellency Assistant Undersecretary for Technical and Specialized Affairs, Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sowaidi, representing the MoI, and Jonathan Adashek, Senior Vice President for IBM’s Marketing and Communications, on behalf of IBM.

The partnership aims to boost cooperation with global technology leaders, aligning with the MoI’s strategic objectives to accelerate digital transformation, develop smart infrastructure, and improve operational efficiency and technical preparedness. This initiative is expected to fortify the national security system and elevate the quality of security and digital services offered.

IBM is globally recognized for its technological solutions, including AI, information security, data analysis, and cloud computing. Its advisory services and technological innovations are anticipated to play a crucial role in building a secure, integrated digital ecosystem, facilitating institutional transformation, and enhancing government performance effectiveness.
