Private Notaries completed 66,000 transactions; making up 71% of the total number of 92,000 transactions processed in 2022, the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endownments Ministry revealed.

The remaining 26,000 transactions were processed by the Notary Directorate at the ministry through the main office and the branch in the Survey and Land Registration Bureau.

Judge Isa Sami Al Mannai attributed higher efficiency in notary procedures to the Private Notary service, launched in 2017.

He highlighted the role of licensed private notaries in accommodating the large volume of notary transactions for citizens, residents, companies and businesses. He added that private notary services provide faster and more flexible options to complete notary requirements, even after official working hours.

He said the service came in line with the objectives of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the government action programme, aimed at redefining the role of the public sector to become a supporting regulator of development and empowering the private sector to be the main driver of growth. He added that the partnership between the public and private sectors provides opportunities of added value for citizens.

Transactions processed by private notaries are reviewed by the Notary Directory via an electronic platform connecting the ministry to them, Judge Al Mannai explained.
