Bethlehem Together - The Moroccan national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the football competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympics, after defeating its Iraqi counterpart 3-0, yesterday evening, Tuesday, at the "Allianz Riviera" stadium, in the final round of Group Two. The Atlas Lions were able to decide the result of the match in the first half, after taking the lead with three goals scored by Amir Richardson, Sofiane Rahimi and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in the 19th, 28th and 36th minutes respectively. In the second half, the Moroccan team continued to control the game, but without any real threat to the Iraqi goal, after ensuring victory. The minutes passed without anything new until the referee blew the final whistle with three goals without a response. With this result, the Moroccan national team raised its points to 6 at the top of the group, followed by the Argentine national team with the same points, which in turn defeated Ukraine 2-0, and they both qualified for the quarter-finals. Morocco will play in the quarter-finals next Friday against the second-place team in Group A, which includes France, the United States, Guinea and New Zealand. Source: Maan News Agency
