Doha: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) has launched the "Old Market Bazaar" at Tawar Mall as part of its "Home Grown" initiative. This endeavor aims to support productive families and bolster the presence of local products within the domestic market.
According to Qatar News Agency, the bazaar will run through the end of June and features 10 family-run projects. These projects offer a variety of handmade crafts, perfumes, gifts, clothing, and food products. The initiative reflects Qatar's ongoing efforts to empower local entrepreneurship and foster sustainable economic participation.
Director of Family Empowerment at the ministry, Buthaina Al Obaidly, stated that the initiative is part of broader efforts to establish a stronger support system for productive families. It seeks to enhance economic and social empowerment while deepening partnerships with the private sector and civil society. This aligns with Qatar's 2025-2030 development strategy.
