Paris, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, participated in the 91st Annual General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) in France. The session was attended by delegations and ministers from different countries from around the world. It was organised by WOAH, along with directors and representatives of international and regional organisations. During the session, the minister delivered a speech, in which he expressed his delight in his participation at the session which coincides with the celebration of the WOAH's 100th Anniversary. Minister Al Mubarak said that combating animal diseases is essential to ensuring food security, highlighting the effective role of using modern technologies and AI in foreseeing and preventing diseases that may spread between animals and humans. He said that Bahrain sought to achieve a sustainable level of food security, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which emphasised the necessity of achieving the national food security strategy through the strategic project for national food production. The minister highlighted the efforts of Bahrain and other governmental entities in developing an integrated management strategy to protect and increase livestock, develop and implement programmes to prevent animal diseases and epidemics, develop mechanisms and standards for inspection on local farms and across ports, and strengthen coordination locally and internationally.
