Member of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Council, head of the Professional Committee, Dr. Nadhim Al-Rubaie, confirmed: "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani allocated a plot of land for journalists in the "Zumbaraniya in Dora" area with an area of 284 dunums, vertical housing for journalists." Al-Rubaie said in a televised interview: "The Syndicate has taken upon itself to serve journalists in all fields, including the journalists' housing project, as it has assigned the Ministry of Construction and Housing to prepare the plans, implementation and direct, and it can be ready within a year," indicating: "These residential apartments will be for all journalists, and will not be limited to a specific category of them, and will be at cost prices only and through multiple payments, in agreement with some banks." He added: "The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister to add 5 billion dinars to the journalists' grant, and the Prime Minister agreed to t hat, in addition to the amount allocated for the grant in the budget, and thus the amount of the grant allocated to journalists will increase," noting that there are three categories for the grant, the practicing member, the trainee and the participant, and the amount of the grant differs in light of this division, (A, B, C), indicating: "The grant will be rewarding." He pointed out: "The distribution of the grant is likely to be in October, and 13,909 Master Cards were distributed among the beneficiaries in Baghdad and the governorates.
