National Council for Arts Chairman participates in ‘Forever Is Now’ exhibition in Egypt

Cairo, Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Council for Arts, participated in an art exhibition, entitled “Forever Is Now”, held in the desert of the Giza Pyramids in Egypt.

Organised by “Arte d’Egypt” and sponsored by the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the exhibition is held between October 26 and November 18.

The exhibition features Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa’s artwork collection, themed “Fragments of a Labyrinth,” which is inspired by a historical tale about a mysterious maze believed to exist beneath the pyramids’ desert. Despite numerous drawings and maps found in ancient books, scientists and researchers have yet to discover tangible evidence of its existence.

“Fragments of a Labyrinth” is a captivating installation comprising 12 aluminum pieces ranging from four to five metres in height. It took six months to create in Bahrain and will return there after the conclusion of the exhibition.

The National Council for Arts Chairman expressed deepest thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their unwavering support for Bahraini plastic artists, noting that the leadership’s support has contributed to developing Bahraini artists’ creativity, and enhanced their role in highlighting the kingdom’s achievements at various artistic and cultural gatherings.

Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa expressed thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO, for inviting him to the renowned exhibition.

He expressed pride in the solid Bahraini-Egyptian relations, lauding the ongoing efforts to consolidate bilateral artistic and cultural cooperation.
