The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, arrived today, Sunday, in the Iranian capital, Tehran, in response to an official invitation. The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, is scheduled to discuss with senior officials in Iran ways to strengthen relations between Iran, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The Presidency of the Kurdistan Region stated in a statement that, in response to an official invitation by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, is visiting Tehran, accompanied by a delegation that includes the two Vice Presidents, the Minister of the Interior of the Kurdistan Region, the Chief of the Presidential Office, and a number of Kurdistan Region officials. The statement noted that during the visit, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, will meet with senior officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran and discuss with them ways to 'strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Iran and betw een Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, in addition to discussing the conditions and developments taking place in the region in general.
