Manama, The delegation of the National Institution for Human Rights (NHRI), led by NHRI's President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, along with Ahmed Al Salloom and Rawdha Al Aradi, members of the Board of Commissioners, participated in the annual meeting of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI) at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. During the meeting, the resolutions of the alliance's General Assembly for 2023 and the ratification of membership of national institutions were endorsed. The meeting also included a briefing on last year's alliance achievements, the work of the four regional networks and the approval of the alliance's financial report. It discussed the auditing of the final accounts, the presentation of the proposed budget for 2024 as well as the approval of the action plan. The meeting highlighted experiences of human rights institutions at the Global Refugee Forum in relation to mechanisms for protecting and promoting the rights of displaced persons and stateless individuals. A number of national institutions from diverse regional networks, including the Asia-Pacific Forum, the African Network, Europe and the Americas, attended the conference. Source: Bahrain News Agency
