Manama, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Dr. Kayan Akram Jaff, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) advisor to GCC states and Yemen. Ahmed AlMazrouai, Secretary of the Regional Commission for Fisheries (RECOFI) FAO Regional Office, attended the meeting. The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation in the field of marine resources. The minister praised the FAO's efforts in achieving global food security and sustainable development. He underscored the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation in marine resources, particularly in fish farming, and the biosecurity strategy for fish farming, which is crucial to developing aquaculture in Bahrain. He also highlighted the importance of exchange of expertise and capacity-building by organising workshops and training programmes. For his part, Dr. Jaff praised Bahrain's progress in all environmental fields, looking forward to expanding cooperation with the Supreme Cou ncil for the Environment (SCE).
