Oil prices rose by more than a dollar a barrel Thursday, amid growing concerns about supplies from the Middle East region. Brent crude futures rose by $1.07, or 1.4 percent, to $79.72 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by $1.35, or 1.8 percent, to $75.85. The two crudes fell by more than one percent yesterday, Wednesday, after data showed a decline in US crude inventories by 846,000 barrels to reach 425.2 million barrels last week.
