Damascus, Bahraini athlete Omar Hamza secured third place and a bronze medal in the triathlon at the Syriatel Beach Games Championship in Syria, which concluded on Sunday. Hamza delivered a strong performance in a highly competitive race for the gold medal, continuing his streak of achievements in various triathlon competitions. The race took place at the Jonada Resort in Tartus, Syria, starting with a 750-meter swim, followed by a 20-kilometre cycling segment, and concluding with a 5-kilometre run. Syrian athlete Ehab Khalouf won first place, with fellow countryman Adnan Zaki in second, while Omar Hamza took third. Omar Hamza expressed his happiness with the bronze medal, saying, "The race was tough due to the cold conditions, which favoured the Syrian athletes accustomed to the weather. As it was my first participation in this championship, I'm pleased with the result and the bronze medal." Hamza added, "I certainly aim for first place and to raise Bahrain's flag high in various events. Next year, my go al is to win the gold medal and achieve even greater successes."
