Ramallah: The State of Palestine reiterated today that the political horizon based on a two-state solution, rooted in international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, which would establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, is the only guarantee for achieving peace, stability, and security for all in the Middle East.
According to Qatar News Agency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, clarified in a statement that the current priority for Palestinians is to solidify the ceasefire in Gaza, ensure the flow of humanitarian aid to its residents, and enable the Palestinian state to fully assume its responsibilities in the Strip. This includes the complete withdrawal of the occupation and the implementation of a reconstruction plan without displacing Gazans from their land.
Abu Rudeineh emphasized the importance of establishing a comprehensive truce in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and halting unilateral actions that violate international law. These steps are crucial for de-escalating tensions and implementing the political horizon based on international legitimacy. He called for cooperation with the United States, Arab, European, and international parties to achieve these goals.
Additionally, he highlighted the need to support the efforts of the Arab, Islamic, and global coalitions to implement the two-state solution and to work towards convening the International Peace Conference in New York in June, in order to secure peace and stability for all in the region.
