Palestinian Presidency Condemns Detention of Gaza Aid Flotilla

Geneva: The Palestinian Presidency condemned the interception and detention of the "Global Sumud Flotilla" in international Mediterranean waters, describing it as "maritime piracy" and a violation of international law.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Presidency stated that the activists aboard the flotilla were on a humanitarian mission to deliver aid to Gaza. It criticized the treatment of the detainees and the remarks made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, which it claimed reflect extremist Israeli policies.

The Palestinian Presidency praised the participants of the flotilla for their support of the Palestinian people and called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to lift the blockade of Gaza and ensure the protection of international activists engaged in such humanitarian missions.
